Dallas Stars Launch Travel Hockey Development Program (DSTHD)

Dallas, TX – March 4, 2024 – The Dallas Stars proudly introduce the Dallas Stars Travel Hockey Development Program (DSTHD), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at propelling the growth and development of Texas travel hockey players and coaches to new heights. This innovative program will introduce a range of initiatives focused on enhancing player development and fostering player development within the Texas travel hockey community.

DSTHD represents the Dallas Stars' commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a strong hockey culture in travel hockey.  The program is set to revolutionize the landscape of travel hockey in Texas and create a unified development platform for players to excel and grow.

Travel hockey community leader Mike Salekin has been appointed as the Program Director for DSTHD. With a proven track record in both girls' and boys' travel hockey, Salekin is poised to leverage the Dallas Stars' resources and infrastructure to deliver exceptional value and development opportunities to the travel hockey community. "Travel hockey clubs play a vital role and are poised to thrive for the foreseeable future. This innovative program is tailored to offer increased support to our coaches and enhance player development across all levels of hockey, with a specific emphasis on Tier 2 player and coach development." - Mike Salekin, DSTHD Hockey Director.
